If you are considering cutting costs but wanting to upgrade your headjoint, we highly suggest having a custom-made lip plate added by Candelarius in either wood, sterling silver, sterling silver with a gold riser or delrin. We offer silver plating services! Below is a D#/Eb key from a customer's Yamaha 481. We are not sure what caused this damage, possibly a reaction with highly acidic sweaty hands over many years. We machine-polished out the imperfections until the finish was smooth then replated in silver again. Good as new!
